Miami Metrozoo is a 290-acre beautifully maintained animal park with habitats featuring Australia, Asia and Africa. The zoo is completely cageless. The animals are kept a safe distance from visitors via cleverly designed moats. The collection of animals includes lions, rare white Bengal tigers and koala bears, kangaroos, a Komodo dragon and an impressive aviary. A petting zoo is also featured. The 45-minute tram tour and Zoofari monorail, which features a nice overview of the park. The monorail rides are $1/person for the entire day and the tram tours are $3.95 per person in addition to the admission prices of $11.50/adult, $6.75/child, and $10.50/senior citizen. You can enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour with a zookeeper. Note: Expect to do a lot of walking – the exhibits are spaced.
