Flamingo Gardens is a lush botanical garden and bird sanctuary including 60 acres of gardens with many rare tropical plants and native creatures. The exhibits are too numerous to list, but a highlight is the Free Flight Aviary, which is a 25,000 square foot facility housing wading birds and tropical flora. The Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary features a live wildlife presentation. The Bird of Prey Center features rare birds that are endangered or close to endangered. The Tropical Plant House includes beautiful and unique plant life. Everyones favorite the flamingos, are found on Flamingo Island. Alligator Lagoon features Floridas native alligators in an educational exhibit. Be sure not to miss the Butterfly and Hummingbird Gardens. Flamingo Gardens offers a tram ride through a tropical rainforest and groves. Flamingo Gardens also includes a gift shop and bookstore, as well as the Gator Grill for a snack or sandwich.
