Flamingo Gardens is a lush botanical garden and bird sanctuary including 60 acres of gardens with many rare tropical plants and native creatures. The exhibits are too numerous to list, but a highlight is the Free Flight Aviary, which is a 25,000 square foot facility housing wading birds and tropical flora. The Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary features a live wildlife presentation. The Bird of Prey Center features rare birds that are endangered or close to endangered. The Tropical Plant House includes beautiful and unique plant life. Everyone’s favorite – the flamingos, are found on Flamingo Island. Alligator Lagoon features Florida’s native alligators in an educational exhibit. Be sure not to miss the Butterfly and Hummingbird Gardens. Flamingo Gardens offers a tram ride through a tropical rainforest and groves. Flamingo Gardens also includes a gift shop and bookstore, as well as the Gator Grill for a snack or sandwich.
